Le chantier naval polonais Remontowa Shipbuilding vient d’annoncer la double célébration des 70 années d’existence et du millième navire construit. Ce navire, si spécial pour cette entreprise de construction marine de Gdynia sera le voilier- école de la marine nationale algérienne et sera lancé cet automne.
Le navire sera un trois mâts et servira à la formation de base des marins et officiers algériens, pourra représenter l’Algérie comme bâtiment d’apparat dans les regroupements internationaux de voiliers écoles.
Selon le chantier naval, le contrat porte aussi sur la formation des équipages et des cadets qui sera assurée par l’Académie Navale de Gdynia.
Le profil du navire aurait été dessiné par l’architecte naval Zygmunt Choren, qui a à son actif une vingtaine de bateaux, dont le magnifique Cinq Mâts le Royal Clipper.
La livraison de ce voilier-école dont le nom de baptême n’est pas encore connu (la logique voudrait qu’il soit nommé Tahat ou Djebel Chelia), est attendu pour 2016.

In the beginning its activity covered construction of railway wagons and production of marine furniture. Gradually expanding its production profile, it has become a leader among European shipyards. Today, Remontowa Shipbuilding being a member of the Remontowa Holding capital group, offers a wide range of products while the ships built in it stand out in the market due to cutting-edge technology and high level of automation meeting the Owners’ requirements as well as the latest industry trends. Over 70 years of activity Remontowa Shipbuilding has built nearly 1000 ships and vessels of various types. The thousandth ship is already under construction. Its launching will take place this year in autumn.
In addition, like the majority of sail ships, it will perform ceremonial duties and participate in international competitions and races.
The Sail Training Ship will operate in all waters except the polar area during polar winter.
Apart from the construction of the vessel, the contract also embraces the training of crew and cadets which will be carried out in cooperation with Gdynia Maritime Academy.
The author of the concept and basic design of the ship is design office Choreń Design & Consulting.
The vessel will be delivered in late 2016.
